Cuisine Indian
- 2 cups whole milk 480 ml
- 2 tablespoons basil seeds tukmaria or Chia seeds
- 1/4 cup cooked vermicelli noodles 50 grams
- 4 tablespoons rose syrup
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped nuts pistachios, almonds
- Rose petals for garnish
- Crushed ice as needed
Prepare Basil Seeds (Tukmaria/ Tulsi) or Chia Seeds:
Assemble the Rose Falooda:
In tall glasses, start by adding a tablespoon of soaked basil or chia seeds at the bottom.
Follow with a layer of cooked vermicelli noodles, dividing equally among the glasses.
Pour 2 tablespoons of rose syrup over the noodles in each glass.
Slowly pour chilled milk into each glass, leaving some space at the top for ice cream. For a vegan version, you can use almond milk or coconut milk instead of whole milk.
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to each glass. While adding the scoop of vanilla ice cream, gently press it down into the milk mixture to ensure it stays in place and doesn't topple over when serving.
For the best results, chill the milk, rose syrup, and vanilla ice cream before assembling the falooda. Chilled ingredients not only enhance the taste but also contribute to the refreshing nature of the dessert.
Garnishing with Nuts and Rose Petals:
Sprinkle chopped nuts generously over the ice cream layer for added crunch and flavor. Use fresh and clean rose petals for garnish to enhance the visual appeal of the falooda.
Serve immediately with a spoon and a straw. Mix well before enjoying to combine all the flavors and textures.
